EICR
The Electrical Installation Condition Report is the most detailed inspection of the electrical installation and ensures functionality and safety. Landlords renting have to comply under the regulations that came into force on 1 June 2020 and form part of the Government’s wider work to improve safety in all residential premises and particularly in the private rented sector.
Landlords
New regulations came into force on 1st of June 2020 and form part of the government’s wider work to improve safety in all residential premises and particularly in the private rented sector. These regulations require landlords to have the electrical installations in their properties inspected and tested by a person who is qualified and competent, at least every 5 years. Landlords have to provide a copy of the electrical safety report to their tenants, and to their local authority if requested. This means that all landlords now have to do what good landlords already do: make sure the electrical installations in their rented properties are safe.
Emergency Lighting
In accordance with the requirements of BS5266, emergency lighting systems should be periodically tested and inspected to ensure that all luminaires function for design lighting levels, duration and are positioned (including signage) correctly for use in “power-loss situations”. Our electricians will test the existing emergency lighting in your premises, and can advise on and supply BS5266 compliant emergency lighting products and services.
